Thoughts from Daddy...

So, after this weekend with all of our friends and family around, I have to say that I am really excited about the baby coming. For all that don't know yet, we have decided on a name for our little boy. And the name is....Greylin Corbit Finch. I can't wait for baby Grey to come. After spending time with Criag and Holly's little girl, Colbie, it is really starting to hit me, that I am really ready to be a dad. Just watching them interact with her and allowing us to be apart of the whole experience has been just awesome. The way she looks at them when they hold her, talk to her, and just love on her makes me very anxious to see how Grey will look at us. Talking with everyone about Grey has brought more excitement that being a dad will be one of the best things in the world. At first, I was a little nervous about being a dad, and which I still kinda am, but the feeling is changing. A good change. Being able to watch the ultra sound and watching him move and grow the last 18 weeks has been some experience. This morning, Krystal brought home some more pics of Grey, which she took at work. One of the pics is Grey sucking his thumb. It makes me want him to be here so bad! When I hold Colbie, it feels so natural. It makes me wanna be able to hold my little boy now! Anyways, I just thought I would throw some feelings around this Sunday as I think about our family growing. I love you Krystal and Baby Grey.

P.S. Here is the pic of Grey sucking his thumb!

It is a BOY!! :)

Today was our 15 week doctors appointment and things are going great. We heard the babies heartbeat...160 beats per min. Then we had Dr. Schroeder do an ultrasound to try to determine the sex. We were so anxious to know... And we are having a boy!! Patrick is so excited, he could hardly walk straight out of the office to the car! We are just excited that everything is going well. The pregnancy seems more real now that we can imagine a little boy to love on!! :) I can't wait to feel HIM move! Yay ...it is a "him" not an "it" anymore.

Week 11 and counting...

Well as of today I am 11weeks and 5 days pregnant! We had our second doctors visit last week and Patrick was able to see the heartbeat and the baby moving for the first time. He was so excited and talked about it all the way home. It is amazing how fast these little creatures grow at this point. This week our baby is the size of a fig (about 1 1/2 inches long) from head to rump. I still dont look pregnant, just fluffy! Soon I am sure :) We are so anxious to find out the sex of the baby. We should hopefully be able to tell at our 18 week ultrasound...unless I can get Patrick to come up to my work and we can do an U/S sooner. It is good to have connections :) !! I am feeling really good at this point, no more nausea and I don't feel the urge to eat everything I can get my hands on! I have been really fortunate thus far! Keep praying for us!

9 Weeks and 4 days...

Well...my abdomen is starting to "thicken" just enough to where I can only wear like 2 pair of pants that I own. I know you are supposed to get bigger when you are pregnant but it is really hard being in the "is she fat or prego?" phase. So far pregnancy only = looking fat + nausea + exhaustion! I think when I feel the peanut move for the first time it will all be more real. Last night at work I did an ultrasound for fun and saw our little alien looking peanut moving around for the first time. I could see him/her waving her little hand/nubb!! It was so cute! It is so strange to have something growing and moving inside of you and you can not feel it! We have our next doctors appointment on Monday, so I will keep your posted with more photos.

Daddy to be....

Patrick is so cute! He is so excited, he can hardly wait for december to get here. He gets me to roll over every night so that he can rub my tummy and always asks do you think the baby can feel me rubbing? He has also been so understanding of my extreme need to sleep and has been really good already with helping me take care of things around the house. Pat always make sure to include the baby when he says we loves me. Now he says "I love you and the baby!" I am so blessed to have such a sweet and sensitive daddy to be!

6w1d....sigh of relief!!

On saturday at work I saw our gumie bears strong heart beat for the first time at 6 weeks and 1 day!! We are so relieved!! I know I am still early, but that is our first milestone we have accomplished! Now comes the first prego symptoms....I am exhausted all of the time, I get headaches (that don't last very long), I am always hungry, and get nauseated if I do not eat promptly every couple of hours. But so far, nothing major! They say that all of these symptoms are good signs that my hormone levels are high and that all is well!! So yay!! It is so weird knowing something is growing inside of you, but you cant feel it....well not yet anyways!

Our 1st OB appointment

At our first appointment last thursday we had the first ultrasound....to find out we were a little behind what we had originally thought. So we were only 5w5d along. Therefore, there was no heart beat yet but, we did see the egg yolk and the sac. So far so good, but this changed out due date to December 26, 2009. So we will have to wait a little bit longer to see the sweet relief of a heart beat!
